NYC Surprise Proposal Photographer at your service!
After two years of dating, Marvin realized he was ready to ask Isabel to marry him and he wanted it to be perfect. He teamed up with Isabel's best friend who initially approached me about photographing Marvin's surprise proposal on Roosevelt Island. I popped up from a search for "surprise proposal photographers near me" amongst many other photographers. What set me apart was that Marvin was able to get some ideas for his proposal after reading my Ultimate Proposal Guide. Marvin decided that Joliette Mandel Photography was the way he wanted to go with his choice of proposal photographer.
On the day of the proposal, Jemimah and the couple's other family and friends set up a beautiful display of fresh flowers and hid in the bushes. I posed as a typical tourist taking photos of the Manhattan skyline facing the proposal spot on Roosevelt Island. When I saw them strolling along happily, I knew she was going to be surprised -- she looked unsuspecting (but perfectly dressed for the occasion!) Her happy tears were met with joy by not only her new fiancé, but everyone else who was in on the plan!
I captured the big moment, candid greetings and celebrations, obligatory group shots, and finally we did a small engagement session together. Their love was so evident and Isabel's smile was truly radiant. They had initially been worried about posing for the camera but they quickly learned that fun prompts can go a long way, plus they were still caught up in the emotion of the day.
