If you’re dreaming of the perfect place to propose in New York City, the Central Park Conservatory Garden might just be it. Nestled at the northern end of the park, this romantic and peaceful garden was the picture-perfect backdrop for Pearson and Emma’s surprise proposal—a heartwarming, thoughtful moment that brought two families together in the most unforgettable way.
Pearson and Emma’s story began earlier this year, after meeting online. They quickly discovered they had been unknowingly working out at the same gym for weeks—she’s an early bird, he’s a night owl! But once they finally connected, the chemistry was instant. In Pearson’s words: “It’s been nothing short of a runaway train of love and healthy obsession.”
Everything just fit. From introducing each other to family, to celebrating milestones that came so naturally, Pearson says he knew from the start that Emma was the one. After their parents met and instantly clicked, he didn’t wait—he got on the phone with her dad that same night to ask for his blessing.
A few weeks before the big day, Pearson visited New York City with his dad to scout locations. After exploring different options, the Conservatory Garden in Central Park stood out for its quiet elegance and stunning summer blooms. It was everything he imagined for a romantic and intimate proposal.
Pearson returned to Texas to pick up the custom ring from Kindler’s Gem Jewelers in Waco, and the final touches came together just in time—including a beautiful custom bouquet inspired by one Emma had made herself. I picked up the arrangement from Plantshed NYC and placed it at the exact spot where he would propose, tied with a ribbon and finished with a card bearing her name. A perfect personal touch.
Pearson told Emma they had dinner plans uptown to give her a reason to dress up—then suggested a stroll through Central Park before their reservation. They arrived at the Conservatory Garden with plenty of time to walk and talk, and Pearson gently guided her to the proposal spot.
There, waiting for her, was the card and bouquet. As she read the note, Pearson dropped to one knee—and just beyond the hedges, both of their families were hiding in the bushes, watching it all unfold. She said yes, and the moment exploded into happy tears and huge hugs as their families rushed in to celebrate!
After the proposal, we spent time exploring the garden together for a joyful post-engagement session. Emma and Pearson were glowing with excitement, effortlessly sweet and candid in front of the camera. From quiet stolen kisses to full-on laughter, every photo told a story of two people totally, completely in love.
They wrapped up the evening with a celebratory dinner nearby, joined by their families—exactly as Pearson had envisioned.
The Conservatory Garden of Central Park is one of NYC’s most timeless and private-feeling locations—perfect for a surprise proposal or engagement session. If you’re dreaming of popping the question in Central Park, I’d love to help make it seamless, stress-free, and uniquely you.
