Pierce & Gabriela's Pierson Park Proposal | Tarrytown Proposal Photographer
- Proposals
After nine years together, Anthony was ready to ask Kimberly one very important question.
Their story actually started long before they ever dated. The two attended the same middle school and high school, even sharing a class together at one point, but never really spoke. Years later, they unexpectedly crossed paths again at their local community college. Anthony spotted Kimberly working in the library, sat down nearby, and realized they were working on the same assignment. He helped her out, they stayed in touch, and before long they were heading out on their first date.
Now, nearly a decade later, they found themselves standing on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade ready for the next chapter.
Anthony wanted the proposal to feel extra special, so we worked together to bring his vision to life. Waiting for Kimberly on the promenade was a red carpet runner lined with candles and a "Marry Me" sign attached to the railing overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The setup looked beautiful against the waterfront backdrop.
What made it even better was that Kimberly happened to show up wearing a gorgeous red dress underneath her black coat, which matched the carpet perfectly. None of that had been planned, but it ended up looking like it was.
The proposal took place on a chilly November afternoon with clear skies and beautiful views across the East River.
When Kimberly realized what was happening, she was completely surprised.
The combination of the setup, the skyline, and the significance of the moment created such an emotional reaction, and it was immediately obvious how much thought Anthony had put into every detail.
After the proposal, we spent time taking engagement photos throughout Brooklyn Heights. One thing I loved about Anthony and Kimberly was how naturally playful they were together. Even after nine years, they still had the kind of energy that made it obvious they genuinely enjoyed being around each other. They spent much of the session laughing, teasing each other, and soaking in the excitement of finally being engaged.
The cold weather didn't slow them down at all. Their coordinated black coats looked fantastic against the city backdrop, and the late fall light gave the entire gallery a warm, romantic feel despite the November temperatures.
Brooklyn Heights remains one of my favorite proposal locations in NYC because it combines iconic skyline views with charming neighborhood streets all within walking distance. For Anthony and Kimberly, it provided the perfect setting for a proposal that felt both elegant and deeply personal.
After nine years together, countless shared memories, and a chance encounter in a college library, they finally got their perfect proposal moment overlooking New York City.
The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is one of the most iconic proposal locations in New York City, offering incredible skyline views, waterfront scenery, and a romantic atmosphere year-round.
Whether you're envisioning a simple surprise proposal or a setup with candles, flowers, and personalized details, I can help you plan and document the moment so you can focus on enjoying it. If you're looking for a Brooklyn proposal photographer or planning a proposal anywhere in NYC, I'd love to help you create and capture an unforgettable engagement story.
