When Denver reached out to me about proposing to his girlfriend Samantha during their weekend trip to New York City, I knew right away it was going to be something truly special. They were in town for Memorial Day weekend, celebrating Samantha’s birthday with her sister and her sister’s boyfriend—but little did she know, a much bigger celebration was on the way.

The Perfect Proposal Spot in the Ramble

After chatting through some ideas, we landed on a hidden gem in Central Park’s Ramble, overlooking the Lake with the iconic San Remo building in the background. It's one of my favorite spots—peaceful, green, and a little off the beaten path, perfect for a private and romantic moment.

To help keep everything a surprise, Samantha’s sister was texting me updates on their location so I could stay hidden in position. I pretended to be a nature photographer until Denver led Samantha to the perfect spot and dropped to one knee.

Her reaction? Total shock and joy. There were hugs, happy tears, and the biggest smiles. The ring—a classic round solitaire from Tiffany & Co.—was absolutely stunning, and it caught the light beautifully against the soft greenery.

From Law School to Life Partners

Samantha and Denver met three years ago in law school—she was tutoring him at the time! Now they’re both criminal lawyers with a beautiful relationship built on admiration, humor, and shared purpose. You could feel their connection in every moment of the session.

A Walk Through the Park & A Celebration

After the big “yes,” we explored some of Central Park’s most iconic spots for portraits—Bethesda Terrace, the Mall, and a few quiet pockets of the park. These two were naturals in front of the camera, laughing and savoring every moment of the morning together.

To wrap up the perfect day, they met up with Samantha’s sister and her boyfriend for a celebratory brunch at Tavern in the Square. The entire proposal was beautifully thought out, full of heart, and so fun to capture.
