When two people love each other and the city that never sleeps, magic happens—just like it did with Mariana and Mireya during their engagement session at the iconic New York Public Library.


This sweet couple flew in all the way from Chicago because they’ve always dreamed of exploring the heart of NYC. Their session was full of laughter, chemistry, and a whole lot of fun—capturing their love and personalities in one of New York City’s most historic and beautiful locations.


Their Story: From Coworkers to Soulmates

Mariana and Mireya met six years ago at Torrid, where Mariana was an assistant store manager, and Mireya worked as an associate. What started as a friendship quickly blossomed into something more. Four years later, they’re stronger than ever, and their connection is undeniable. From their shared love of NYC to their sense of humor, these two are as fun as they are in love.


Mireya shared with me that they wanted their relationship to be captured honestly, especially as a same-sex couple. I made sure that every moment we shared—whether it was a candid laugh or an intimate glance—was true to their bond and showcased their personalities as a couple.


The Session: Walking Through History at the NY Public Library

We started the session inside the New York Public Library, a place where every corner and every staircase tells a story. The grand architecture, sweeping staircases, and iconic reading rooms made the perfect backdrop for Mariana and Mireya’s engagement photos.


As we moved through the library, we explored the hallways and stairways, capturing their chemistry as they playfully teased each other and exchanged sweet, loving glances. Their genuine laughter was contagious, and they moved through the space with such ease and grace—proving that even the grandest of settings can feel cozy when you're with the one you love.

It was clear that they were not just posing for photos—they were living in the moment, letting their connection shine through every frame.


The NYC Streets: Wrapping Up with a Classic City Vibe

After capturing their playful energy indoors, we took it outside to the streets of NYC. The bustling city streets were the perfect contrast to the quiet, intimate setting of the library, and Mariana and Mireya looked absolutely stunning as we snapped photos against the city’s iconic backdrop. Whether it was a candid shot by the yellow cabs or a playful moment in front of a busy intersection, the city was alive with energy, just like their love.
