A Playful Central Park Family Session with Little Eleanor

One of the sweetest things about photographing families is capturing kids exactly as they are in this moment of life—curious, playful, and full of personality. Recently, I had the joy of photographing a family of three in Central Park. Their two-year-old daughter, Eleanor, completely stole the show!

Her parents did such a wonderful job preparing her ahead of time by explaining that we were going to take photos together. That made such a difference—she arrived ready to have fun. To help her warm up even more, I showed her how my camera works. With my help, Eleanor even got to take a few “photos” of her parents. She proudly pressed the shutter, and I loved seeing her giggle at the idea of being the photographer for a moment!

Once she was comfortable, we wandered through Central Park, letting Eleanor run, explore, and play while I captured those little in-between moments—her tiny hands holding onto mom’s, her big smile when dad lifted her in the air, and the sweet, quiet snuggles when she needed a break. These are the moments I know her parents will treasure years from now.

From Central Park to Westchester Family Photography

As much as I love photographing families in Central Park, I’m equally excited to begin offering more family sessions in Westchester County as my family relocates there. Places like Pleasantville, Chappaqua, Armonk, and Tarrytown are filled with perfect spots for kids to run and explore, while still giving parents the timeless, beautiful portraits they’ll want to frame.

Just like Eleanor loved getting involved in her session, I always look for ways to make photography fun for little ones—because when kids are relaxed and happy, the whole family shines. Whether it’s playing a game, letting them show off a “photographer moment,” or simply exploring together, my goal is to create an experience that feels easy, joyful, and true to your family.

Why Family Sessions Matter

At two years old, Eleanor is at such a fun age—curious, silly, and always on the move. But as any parent knows, this stage doesn’t last forever. That’s why family sessions are so meaningful: they freeze time just long enough to look back and remember the way your child laughed, the way their little hand fit perfectly into yours, or the way they loved being the center of attention.

If you’re thinking about booking family photos—whether in Central Park or in Westchester towns like Pleasantville, Chappaqua, Armonk, or Tarrytown—I’d love to help you capture the real, joyful moments that tell your family’s story.
