Nestled in the heart of Monroe, CT, The Waterview offers the perfect backdrop for timeless wedding memories. I had the honor of capturing Rocco and Brittany’s enchanting wedding at this stunning venue in late November 2024, and it was truly a day to remember.
A Love Story That Began on New Year’s Eve
Rocco and Brittany’s love story is as magical as it is heartfelt. They first met on New Year’s Eve, a serendipitous beginning that set the tone for their journey together. To honor that special first date, they gave their daughter, Bella Eve, her beautiful name. They also decided that they wanted their wedding to be in early winter to honor the wintery start to their relationship.
As Connecticut natives, Rocco and Brittany chose to celebrate their wedding close to home, surrounded by family, friends, and their two daughters, who were integral to the day’s charm. Their older daughter, just 6 years old, proudly walked down the aisle as a flower girl, while baby Bella Eve, only 2 months old, melted hearts as her aunt lovingly carried her down the aisle during the ceremony.
The Venue: The Waterview’s Elegant Charm
The Waterview provided the perfect setting for their special day, blending classic elegance with modern touches. The ceremony took place indoors as it was a cold early winter day, overlooking the serene lake, where the late autumn hues reflected beautifully in the water. Inside, the reception hall dazzled with soft lighting, chic decor, and a sense of warmth that invited everyone to celebrate love and togetherness.
Capturing the Magic
As a wedding photographer, my goal is to preserve the emotions and details that make each wedding unique. Rocco and Brittany’s wedding was filled with candid moments: the laughter while the priest encouraged Rocco to chug some wine during their ceremony, the tender glances between the couple during their family's speeches, and the joyous energy on the dance floor as friends and family celebrated late into the evening. As a new mom, Brittany also checked on her baby girl throughout the day and I love some of the photos I have of her nursing as she was getting her hair done -- a bride who is truly family-oriented and does it all.
One of my favorite shots of the day was during golden hour when Rocco and Brittany stepped outside for a quiet moment together. The soft November sunset cast a golden glow, creating a romantic and ethereal ambiance that perfectly reflected their bond.
A Wedding to Remember
Rocco and Brittany’s wedding was not just a celebration of their love but a testament to the power of family and connection. Every detail, from the floral arrangements to the personal touches honoring their daughters and their dog, was a reflection of their story and the love they share.
